Importing
Loomkeep imports your history from the apps you used before, from Settings › Import. Each source has its own page:
| Domain | Sources |
|---|---|
| Films, series, anime | TV Time, Trakt, Simkl, MyAnimeList |
| Games | Steam |
| Books | Goodreads, StoryGraph, Babelio |
On their way: Letterboxd, Kitsu, LibraryThing, BookWyrm.
How an import works
Section titled “How an import works”- You give Loomkeep your data: a file exported from the other app, or a connection to your account there (Simkl), or your profile (Steam).
- Loomkeep analyses it without writing anything: each title is matched to its catalogue, through the ids the export carries when it has some, by title and year otherwise.
- You review it, grouped by status. Titles you already track are marked; a title that couldn’t be matched can be searched and matched by hand. Untick whatever you don’t want.
- You import. Nothing is written before this step.
By default, an import adds to your library and keeps what you already had. Overwrite my data first deletes your library and history for that domain, then imports: use it to start over from a single source.
Settings › Import › Import history lists your past imports and how they went.
