IMDb
What comes in: your rated films, series and episodes, your watchlist with the date you added each title, and your lists, with the notes you wrote on their titles. Video games, podcasts and anything else IMDb tracks outside films and series aren’t imported, and IMDb’s export carries no reviews.
- On IMDb, export your ratings, your watchlist and any list you want, from each page’s Export option (or IMDb’s Exports page). Each export is a CSV file.
- In Loomkeep, open Settings › Import › IMDb and drop all the CSV files at once.
- Review and import: see how an import works.
IMDb’s ids match exactly: there is nothing to confirm by hand. A title TMDB doesn’t know stays unmatched instead of being guessed from its name, and can be searched by hand in the review step.
A few things to know:
- Ratings come in as they are: IMDb rates out of 10, like Loomkeep. A rated title counts as watched. IMDb only dates the rating, never the viewing, so the watch stays undated.
- Series: a rated series comes in as being watched, since rating a series says nothing about how far you got.
- Episodes: a rated episode is marked as watched on its series, and its rating goes to the episode. An episode TMDB can’t place is skipped and counted among the unmatched titles.
- Watchlist or list: IMDb exports both with the same columns, so the file name tells them apart. Keep the watchlist file’s name (it contains “watchlist”). Any other list file becomes a Loomkeep list named after the file, whose titles don’t join your library.
- Anime are matched on TMDB, like everything IMDb exports. To keep AniList’s data for them, import them from AniList or MyAnimeList too.
